I searched for you in temples and mosques but I could not find you, In every atom speck with what splendor, you are present,īut intelligence is bewildered as to what you look like and what are you. You are not present yet you are everywhere Us poor people have been ruined and erased But, To have a glimpse of you I travelled everywhere. Sometime I searched looked for you here and sometimes I went there, The first part is the english translation of the poem followed by the romanized urdu lyrics.i have also included a video of the qawwali song here although i have to warn you that its quite long, around 30 minutes.so make sure you have enough time to listen to it. Its a personal favourite of mine because of its transcedental message.i feel that it expresses the experience of an awakening sufi soul very well. The search for the divine is a innate urging of the human soul.today i want to share here a translation of a very beautiful poem about this was written by a Pakistani Poet Naaz Khialvi and most people know about it through a qawwalli called Tum Ek Gorakh Dhandha Ho.it was sung by the Late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and is amongst his most popular qawwalis.
